SSP Umesh Kumar

SSP Umesh Kumar Srivastava has indeed given a priceless gift to the citizens. From today (Nov1) no inter-city trucks and heavy goods carriers, will be allowed to pass  through  Allahabad  . Alternative routes have been earmarked for them.

This will provide much relief to the people in the evenings, especially after the no-entry ban is lifted and there is unmanageable rush of vehicles from opposite sides. Now they will bypass Allahabad and thus we will not have to bear the brunt of their onslaught any more.
But today, on the occasion of Dhanteras, the rush is going to be unmanageable. This is because 500 cars and  400 bikes have been booked to be released on the auspicious occasion today. They will add to the rush. Such heavy is the rush of new vehicle  buyers that one of the dealers, Anil Khetrapal,  says it will be impossible for them to release all vehicles today and that some people will have to take their delivery tomorrow.
If you live close to the dhanteras shopping centres, I would suggest that instead of taking out you vehicle you had better go there on foot. And ladies will be advised not to go out wearing gold chains or carrying decorative purses that can be pulled easily by crooks. It would be best if three or four persons of a family or friends go together so that the purchased goods might easily be carried by them without much of a burden. You will notice that this way you will return home with your purchases quite early   whereas your neighbour who  goes out by car before you  leave  home would still be struggling half way to the market because the rush on roads today would be colossal. Best of time to all of you- and good luck too!
