Delhi Police Special Cell Wednesday nabbed a 32 year-old Indian Mujahideen (IM) suspect, Ariz Khan alias Junaid. He has been on the run since the September 2008 Batla House encounter, where two IM suspects were gunned down while two others were nabbed by the police. He had managed to escape. Inspector Mohan Chand Sharma was also killed during the exchange of fire. Juniad was nabbed from the Indo-Nepal border.

A seven-year-old was allegedly murdered by an IAS aspirant in Delhi and his body found stuffed in a suitcase from an apartment in north-west Delhi’s Swaroop Nagar, police said on Tuesday. The accused, identified as 27-year-old Avdesh Shakya, has been arrested.

Fire On Ship Under Repair At Cochin Shipyard Kills 5, Injures 11

At least five persons died and 11 people were injured in a fire accident at the Cochin Shipyard in Kerala this morning.

According to sources in the shipyard, a blast was heard from a docked vessel, Sagar Bhushan, around 10 am, when around 20 people were working in the ship. The blast took place in the tank of the ship, which is owned by the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation. The drilling vessel was being repaired at the dry dock of the shipyard.


NEW DELHI: The CPM draft political resolution released Tuesday rules out any political alliance or partners in a united front with the Congress.

The draft resolution will come up for discussion during party Congress in April this year in Hyderabad. State units can move amendments to the draft resolution in next two months.
