Virat Kohli celebrated Shikhar Dhawan’s wedding anniversary at his New Delhi restaurant on Tuesday. The Indian cricket team plays a T20 international versus New Zealand at Feroz Shah Kotla on Wednesday.

A day before they take on New Zealand in a three-match T20 series, the Indian cricket team celebrated its continuous success over the past few months in a grand style as they dined at skipper Virat Kohli’s restaurant, Nueva, on Tuesday night.

To say that India have been on a roll is an understatement. They have turned up match after match and conquered by-and-large everything that has come their way over the past two years or so. A result of that has been the climb to the top spot in both Tests and ODIs (South Africa, though, have leapfrogged India to the top spot in ODIs since then).

The recent FIFA Under-17 World Cup held in India ended in glory for the English team as they clinched the trophy for the first time since its inception.This was England’s second major triumph after winning the Under-20 World Cup held in South Korea ealier this year.The English Under-17 side won the trophy after defeating Spain in the final before a packed crowd at the Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata.

On the verge of winning their seventh consecutive ODI series, captain Virat Kohli and his deputy Rohit Sharma struck sparkling centuries as India posted a challenging 337/6 in 50 overs in the third and deciding one-day international against New Zealand, at the Green Park here on Sunday.


Dhawan also heaped praise on pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who returned with impressive figures of 3 for 45.

Opener Shikhar Dhawan credited the bowlers for India’s six-wicket win, saying they did half the job by restricting New Zealand to a modest total in the second one-dayer in Pune.
