Scientist, Albert Einstein was born on March 14, 1879, in Ulm, Kingdom of Wurttemberg, German Empire to his father, Hermann Einstein, and mother, Pauline Einstein.

Likewise, Einstein with his contributions to modern physics received the 1921 Nobel Prize in Physics for his services to theoretical physics, and especially for his discovery of the law of the photoelectric effect.

Albert Einstein Family: Mother Pauline Einstein
Albert Einstein’s mother, Pauline Einstein was born on February 8, 1858, in Cannstatt, Kingdom of Wurttemberg.
She grew up in a Jewish family with an older sister, Fanny, and two older brothers, Jacob and Caesar. Pauline was an adopted child by the family name Koch in 1842.
She was raised by her parents, Julius Doerbacher and Jette Bernheimer.
Pauline was married to Hermann Einstein at the age of 18. They were married on August 8, 1876, in Cannstatt and after the wedding, the couple moved to Ulm.
Pauline was a well-education woman who was also a talented and dedicated piano player. She made her son, Albert take violin lessons at the age of five.
Sadly, after the death of her husband in 1902, she began to live with her sister, Fanny, and her husband Rudolf Einstein.
Pauline worked as a housekeeper in Heilbronn, Kingdom of Wurttemberg in 1911.
During World War I, Pauline fell ill with cancer. She was taken to sanatorium Rosenau due to her illness. However, she passed away fighting cancer on February 20, 1920.
Albert Einstein Family: Father Hermann Einstein
Albert Einstein’s father, Hermann Einstein was born on August 30, 1847, in Buchau, Kingdom of Wurttemberg.
He was born to Abraham Einstein and Helene Moos. Hermann grew up with six siblings.
He attended the secondary school in the regional capital Stuttgart and was talented in mathematics. Due to poor family status, he decided to become a merchant and began an apprenticeship in Stuttgart.
Hermann married his wife, Pauline Koch on August 8, 1876, and went to live in Ulm.
In 1880, Hermann and his brother Jakob founded the electrical engineering company Einstein & Cie, where Hermann was the merchant and Jakob was the technician.
The brothers moved their company to Pavia, Italy in 1894. Unfortunately, due to the poor business, they had to abandon their factory in 1896 resulting in Hermann losing most of his money.
Sadly, in 1902, Hermann died of heart failure at the age of 55 in Milan. His grave is in Civico Mausoleo Palanti inside Cimitero Monumentale di Milano.
Albert Einstein Family: Younger Sister Maria Einstein
Albert Einstein’s younger sister, Maria “Maja” Einstein was born on November 18, 1881, in Munich, Kingdom of Bavaria, German Empire.
She went to elementary school in Munich from 1887 to 1894. After the family moved to Milan, she attended German International School.
Maria graduated from the University of Bern in 1909 with her dissertation entitled, “Contribution to the Tradition of the Chevalier au Cygne and the Enfances Godefroi.”
Maria was married to Paul Winteler but the couple were childless. In 1992, the couple moved to Colonnata near Florence in Italy.
On June 25, 1951, she died of arteriosclerosis, four years before her brother.
