Samantha Murphy, a 51-year-old Australian woman went missing since last two months on February 4, 2024.
She was last seen on the morning of February 4 while she was going for a morning run from her home, Ballarat, Victoria to Mount Clear.
However, after several days of searches carried out, the police failed to find any evidence of Samantha’s disappearance.
Later, the Victoria Police suspected her disappearance to be dead, and a 22-year-old man from Scotsburn was arrested on March 6.

Attack on February 11, 2023
On February 11, 2023, a woman was attacked by an unidentified male in the Lal Lal state forest. She was attached to a rock tied to a stick.
Well, Samantha Murphy during the day of her disappearance had headed for a run less than 20 kilometers from the location of the attack.
This grew suspicious that the same attack could have happened to Murphy leading to her disappearance.
Samantha Murphy Missing
A day before she went missing, Samantha had dinner with her husband and some mutual friends at their home. His husband said, she had been normal that day and had planned to run 14 kilometers the next day at Woowookarung Regional Park.
Similarly, the next morning she was captured by a CCTV camera in the driveway of her home at around 7 am.
She was to attend a family event at 11 am but after failing to attend, her family immediately contacted the police regarding her disappearance.
Victoria Police along with the Victoria State Emergency Service, Parks Victoria, and the Country Fire Authority conducted a search operation for several days but failed to locate Samantha.
On February 23, Police suspected that Murphy was deceased and arrested a male from Scotsburn who was later charged with Murphy’s murder.
