Candidates can submit their online applications for the exams from February 28 to March 28.

The Eamcet exam is likely to undergo changes this year in Telangana.

According to a report in The New Indian Express, the biometric system will be used in test centres in 10 districts and the MBBS test could go online. But the engineering test will continue be held offline. Another change is the exam fee, which has now been revised to Rs 500 from Rs 250 but SC/ST candidates will still pay Rs 250.

The daily reports that the CET committee and the chairman of the Telangana State Council for Higher Education (TSCHE) met in Hyderabad on Wednesday. The exam for both engineering and medical streams is scheduled for May 2.

TSCHE chairman Papi Reddy stated that incidents of malpractice and irregularities had been noticed in medicine and PG entrance tests in previous years and they now want to eliminate that. Hence they thought of taking the test completely online.

The report adds that those taking the test will be allowed to take back carbon papers of the OMR sheet so that they can check their answers after the key is released. But this is for the first time. There would also be exam centres in the border districts for the convenience of AP candidates writing the exam.

Candidates who come in late for the exam will not be allowed to take the exam. The daily adds that the test will be held in 15 regional centres spread across 10 districts.

In 2014, around 2.5 lakh students took the Eamcet exam and 90,000 of them took the medical test.

Candidates can submit their online applications for the exams from February 28 to March 28. In case they miss the cut-off date, candidates can submit the application paying fines ranging from Rs 500 to Rs 10,000, till April 29. The key will reportedly be released the following day and ranks will be declared on May 12.
